Delicious with rissoles
1 onion
120 ml water
2 tsp cornflour
120ml pint milk
Knob of butter
Peel and finely chop the onion. Put into a small saucepan with the water. Bring to the boil then lower the heat and simmer gently for 10 -15 mins. In a small bowl mix cornflour to a paste with 1 tablespoon of milk. Gradually add this to the onion mixture, stirring constantly. Add more milk until the sauce is the correct consistency. Beat in the butter and season with salt and pepper.
