{"id":906,"date":"2020-03-28T08:57:04","date_gmt":"2020-03-28T08:57:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/recipes.maisonamaureillas.com\/?p=906"},"modified":"2020-03-30T10:38:48","modified_gmt":"2020-03-30T10:38:48","slug":"custard-creams","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/recipes.maisonamaureillas.com\/?p=906","title":{"rendered":"Custard Creams"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>For the biscuits:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>175g plain flour<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3 tablespoons\ncustard powder<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3 tablespoons caster\nsugar<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>100g unsalted\nbutter, cut into 1 cm cubes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 egg<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bd teaspoon vanilla\nextract<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>up to 1 tablespoon\nmilk<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the filling:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>100g icing sugar<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 tablespoon custard\npowder<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>50 g softened butter<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 teaspoon boiling\nwater<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To make the dough, pulse the flour, custard powder, baking powder and sugar together in a food processor until blended. Add the butter and pulse until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. (If you don\u2019t have a food processor, use your fingers, or a hand blender.) <br>\nAdd the egg and vanilla extract and mix until the mixture comes together. If it\u2019s still too dry, add the milk a drop at a time until it\u2019s moist enough. <br>\nMake the custard cream filling: <br>\nMix the icing sugar and custard powder in a bowl, then blend in the butter with an hand mixer. Add the boiling water and blend until smooth. Set aside until ready to use.<br>\nPreheat the oven to 180\u00b0C. <br>\nRoll the dough out on a well-floured surface to a thickness of about 4mm and prick over the surface with a fork. Cut out your biscuits and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
